(Feb. 2 , 2012 ) The New England Patriots flag was hanging prominently outside Jane Hardy’s house on Somerset Road Monday, and the driveway was clearly marked with a sign stating that parking was for Pats fans only.
Inside, Jane and her sisters, Jeanne Dooley and Joan Fisher, were surrounded by perhaps the largest collection of Patriots paraphernalia a fan could imagine. There was a coconut from Hawaii painted in silver with the Pats’ logo. A huge balloon floated above them with the profile of Pat Patriot. Bobble-heads, stuffed animals, even the shower curtain in the bathroom displayed their love for the Patriots.
With the Super Bowl just days away, the sisters were primed in Tom Brady jerseys, and clearly ready for the big game. As they discussed their predictions for Sunday’s showdown with the New York Giants, the Chihuahua running around at their feet, Harley, was even decked out in his own Patriots jersey.
The sisters readily accept the mantle of being the biggest Pats fans on Nantucket. And there’s little doubt about it.
