It’s that time of year. Summer is coming to an end, the first day of school is right around the corner, and it’s time to find that perfect back-to-school outfit.

Before hopping on the boat and heading to the Cape Cod Mall, a trip around downtown Nantucket may prove fruitful, as many of this fall’s most fashionable clothing styles can be found in stores right here on the island.

Vis-à-vis, at 34 Main St. stocks some of the trendiest women’s clothing on the market. Assistant manager Didi Kirova said that skinny jeans are one of this year’s most popular items, with “jeggings” – jean leggings – coming in a close second.

“Skinny jeans, pants and motorcycle pants with zippers are very popular this year,” she said. “You’ll also see a lot of people wearing leggings and oversized sweaters that are a triangular shape. These sweaters are flattering because they make a person’s waist look small.”
Kirova said that many of the sweaters are made of cotton and cashmere, two popular fabrics found throughout the store. She also said that dresses are going to continue to be trendy, as they were throughout the summer.
